The Sahari range
Geographical location
A 1200-hectare estate, 600 hectares planted with vines, at the foot of the High Atlas mountains (Meknès Province) in the town of Ait Yazem, located on the fertile plains of the Saïs, in Morocco. Harvested by hand and processed in the traditional manner, this wine has a unique character.
The vineyard is planted in the foothills of the Atlas mountains, at 600 metres altitude, to the southwest of Meknes, in clay-limestone soils.
The winemaking process
Fermented in the vat for 17-21 days, then crushed by foot.
Varietals:
Grenache (20%) - Cinsault (20%) - Carignan (50%)
Alicante (10%).
Tasting notes:
A beautiful purple-red colour. Powerful nose with a mixture of fruit and leather notes. Developed aromas of red fruit, with mellow tannins and spicy notes to finish.
Food & wine combinations:
Grilled flank of beef, wild boar stew, tuna à la Sicilienne. Serve between 14 and 16°C.
